Memory Lane
As we grow older we become insensensitive in the garb of maturity, we start overlooking facts which makes us happy or sad just because we are too old(my foot)
I dont know who we are trying to fool others or just ourselves, we dont even acknowledge things.Though we find perfect execuses family, commitments ,job responsibilities but some where down our own hearts we know we are cheating .
Tomorrow i am going to attend one of my batchmates wedding and hoping to take a trip down the memory lane. Those fond memories have a charm of their own They are dim and yet they shine like bright stars giving immense joy, and they continue to warm the heart like a slow burning stove in a chilly winter night.
But sadly, like those lines in Floyd’s Comfortably Numb,
“When I was a child I caught a fleeting glimpse,
Out of the corner of my eye.
I turned to look but it was gone.
I cannot put my finger on it now.
The child is grown, the dream is gone.
I have become comfortably numb.”
